MarConnect has entered into an agreement with the Norwegian IoT network provider Nornir to use their HIVE technology in our onboard wireless communication solutions, including our life-saving sensor technology.
MarConnect's MarNet platform is built on Nornir's HIVE technology and uses an advanced sensor network to provide systems and decision makers at sea and on land with real-time information. MarConnect's unique solution also enables peer-to-peer communication across existing systems, machinery and equipment so that existing and new ships can be digitized, and in the long run facilitate autonomous shipping.
Marconnect's Marpersonnel technology will streamline QHSSE-work and reduce costs. With the help of real-time communication with highly sensitive sensors carried by the crew, MarConnect can significantly reduce the extent of damage in the event of accidents and emergencies such as man overboard, fire and the like. The collaboration with Nornir has the potential for further development of our solution with the implementation of artificial intelligence.
“MarConnect's innovative solutions for a safer and more efficient maritime industry are inspiring and something we at Nornir are proud to be able to make our contribution to. This collaboration highlights Nornir HIVE's versatility - even in a very demanding and challenging sector. ”
- Paal Kristian Levang, CEO Nornir
